From the Scott County, Arkansas "Advance Reporter" dated 2 April 1942. Mrs. Adah F. Walker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. I. Ladd, was born at Pana, Ill. Later she lived in Tulsa, Okla. about 30 years. She came to Waldron [Arkansas] about six years ago. She departed this live March 26, after having been confined to her room for only a few days. Mrs. Walker is survived by one sister, Mrs. L. L. Harlin of the home, two nieces of Galveston, Texas, and one nephew. She would have been 80 years of age in June. She was a long time member of the Methodist Church. Her daughter, Mrs. Roy Dick, passed on in November of last year. Her son-in-law, Roy Dick, was laid to rest last Sunday afternoon. Funeral service was conducted by Rev. J. M. Harrison at the Methodist Church last Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. Rice Funeral Home was in charge of burial. This article was emailed to me by Delaine Edwards of the Scott County, Arkansas site. http://www.rootsweb.com/~arscott/scott.htm If I can do my math correctly, Adah would have been born in June of 1862 in Pana, Illinois. There was a George Ladd from Ogle County, Illinois who served in Battery G, 2nd Illinois LIght Artillery, during the Civil War, 1861-1863. Can anyone identify this Adah Ladd as a daughter of George or of someone else? SUBMITTED BY: : Janet Newell newell@concourse.netCopyright © 1997, 1998, 1999 Misty Flannigan , All Rights Reserved.
