Wm. L. Ladd, 55 years old, a farmer, died at 1:30 o'clock Friday afternoon at the family home near Greenbriar, Mo., following an illness of a year. He had been in a hospital at Cape Girardeau and more recently returned from the Veteran's Hospital at Jefferson Barracks.
Funeral Service will be held at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon at Ladd's Chapel with Rev. Truman Collins of St. Louis in Charge. Burial will be in Baker Cemetery with Masonic rites. The body is at the Baker Funeral Home here (Lutesville) and will remain until time for the services.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Dora Ladd; a son, Alan Ladd at home; four daughters, Mrs. Lester Gaither of St. Louis, Mrs. J. J. East Jr. of Cape Girardeau, and Misses Mosette and Jane Ladd at home; a sister, Mrs. J. H. Lee of Houston, Tex., and three grandchildren.
He was born May 19, 1894, in Houston, Tex., but had spent the greater part of his life in Bollinger County, residing on the farm where he died for 17 years. He was married to Miss Dora Crites of Lutesville.-"The Southeast Missourian," Cape Girardeau, Mo. April 8, 1950
