April 1899.

Resided in Eastland Co. 8 years my P.O. is Eastland, Eastland Co., Texas.

Hemmorage & badly rutured - do not know what caused Hemmorage but the Cisco
cyclone in 1893 caused rupture.

lacking 2 mo. & 2 days.

How long resident of Texas - I was brought here by my parents in about 1842.

Mr. Ladd, who was reported killed by Indians on Brushy, early in June
appeared on the scene. He excaped by a miracle. He was surrounded several
times by Indians, who fired at him with arrows & ball. His own gun would not
fire, but he escaped without a wound.
Note: Could this be John Ladd buried in Grayson county cemetery who was b.
Apr. 17, 1797 d. Nov. 19, 1881.
