Obituary in newspaper:
COLEMAN. -Rev. John Morgan Coleman, son of Robert and Sallie Coleman, was
born Jan. 23, 1833, married Sept. 19, 1859 to Nancy Parker, professed religion
and joined the M. E. Church, South, in early manhood and licensed to preach
just after the Civil war. He was born in South Carolina, and move to Alabama
in early youth, where he lived till May 23d 1906, when God called him up
higher. He leaves a wife, two daughters and five sons. He said before he
died he was ready at God's call to go. Bro. Coleman was well known by the
writer who knew him to be a master mason in good standing, a local Elder in
the M. E. Church, South, and an earnest worker in his Master's cause.
