INDEX

Notes

He worked as a carpenter. He lost the first joint of the index finger on one hand in an accident at work. He built several homes in Tuscaloosa and Northport, Alabama, including the one at 316 Caplewood Terrace.

He was senile for several years prior to his death - perhaps from Altzheimer's Disease.

He was a Deacon at Calvary Baptist Church, Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He was elected a lifetime Deacon, and his daughter Dorothy believes that he was the first or one of the first so elected.

He wrote a biography of his childhood and young manhood (prior to his marriage) for his daughter Evelyn. Photocopies and a typed transcript are filed.
