John Boynton,
born 1594 in Knapton, Wintringham, East Riding, Yorkshire, England, died
18 February 1670 in Rowley, Essex Co., Massachusetts; married Ellen
Pell,
born in Boston, Suffolk Co., Massachusetts. John joined the 1637
expedition,
with his brother William, under the auspices of their cousin Sir Matthew
Boynton to settle in New England. While Matthew Boynton remained in England
and joined the fortunes of Oliver Cromwell, the remainder of the party
left Hull in the autumn of 1638 and landed at Boston later the same year.
Many of the families were wealthy and they purchased a tract of land between
Newbury and Ipswich, Massachusetts. They took possession of the land in
April 1639 and named it "Rowley" in honor of their minister Mr. Ezekiel
Rogers who had been a preacher in a town of the same name in Yorkshire.

Caleb Boynton, born about 1649 in Rowley, Essex Co., Massachusetts, died 13 September 1708 in Rowley, Essex Co., Massachusetts; married 21 May 1674 Hannah Harriman, born 22 May 1655, Rowley, Essex Co., Massachusetts, died 19 February 1725 in Rowley, Essex Co., Massachusetts, daughter of Leonard and Margaret Harriman.

born 17 May 1688 in Rowley, Essex Co., Massachusetts, died 16 September
1761 in Milford, Worcester Co., Massachusetts, where he is buried in Vernon Grove Cemetery; married 25 May 1711 in Newbury,
Essex Co., Massachusetts, Sarah
Wheeler,
born 4 July 1692 in Newbury, Essex Co., Massachusetts. She was daughter
of Nathan Wheeler
and Elizabeth/Rebecca Safford
of Rowley and Newbury. On 7 June 1728 in Weston, Middlesex Co., Massachusetts,
Ebenezer married second Abigail Chadwick. Sarah Wheeler was named
as "Sarah Boynton" in her father's will proved 26 July 1741. Ebenezer
was a blacksmith and he and Sarah moved to Weston, Middlesex Co., Massachusetts,
before 1726.

(5) Jeremiah Boynton,
born 27 December 1711 in Rowley, Essex Co., Massachusetts; married 1 August
1736 in Waltham, Middlesex Co., Massachusetts, Patience
Sanderson,
born October 1713 in Watertown, Middlesex Co., Massachusetts.
Jeremiah and Patience were admitted to the church in Waltham on 1 May 1737,
and went to Milford as early as 1739. They were dismissed to the
church in Mendon on 8 January 1744 and recived into the Congregational
Church of Milford, East Precinct, from Waltham, on 3 June 1744. They
moved to Sudbury, Middlesex Co., Massachusetts, by 1747 where their last
two children were born.
Jeremiah died in Sudbury on 15 February 1754. Administration was
granted to Patience on 1 April 1754.

(6) Edward Boynton, born 11 May 1737 in Waltham, Middlesex Co., Massachusetts; married 11 November 1767 in Sudbury, Middlesex Co., Massachusetts, Abigail Walker, born 22 August 1742 in Sudbury, Middlesex Co., Massachusetts, daughter of John Walker and Lydia Daniel.
