(1) Wilhelm Williamzen Jansz "Ye Duyster" Van Heerden, born about 1620 in Einigen, County Brabant, Netherlands, emigrated to New Netherlands before 1660. William appears at Fort Orange, Beverwyk (later called Albany, New York) before 1660. There is no record of his first wife, who was mother of his two sons. His second wife, Leentje Martins Kuyter, was the widow of Jockem Pieterzen Kuyter, a hero in the early history of New York. She was killed by Indians. Roeloff Williamzen Ye Duyster and Jan Williamzen Ye Duyster were William's sons and they appeared with him before 1660 in Fort Orange.

Albans, Vermont at the house of his grandson Daniel Dutcher; married in Dutchess
Co., before Justice of the Peace Francis Filkins, on 1 May 1738 Catherine
a.k.a. "Trintje" Reinders/Rynders,
born about 1714, died December 1799 at St. Albans, Vermont, age 85 years.
On 13 May 1741, the same J.P. married Catherine's sister Helena Reinders to
Isaac White, son of William White.
In 1742 Roeloff was assessed
taxes at Weatogue, Litchfield Co., Connecticut. By 1785, he and son Christopher
removed their families to St. Albans, Vermont. In the 1790 census, Roeloff was
enumerated in Hungerford, and Christopher in St. Albans.
Family tradition used to tell
stories of Roelof enjoying his peaceful old age sitting before of his farmhouse
door.
