In 1715, Israel was living in Lebanon and sold land in Coventry.
In 1721, while living in Windham, he bought 500 acres north of Mansfield,
and in 1722 while in Lebanon again, he bought 150 acres, partly in Windham
and partly in Lebanon, in what was later called South WIndham. His
name appears often in deeds up to 1738, when he sold one-half his farm
to his son Israel, and one-half to his son Daniel. He and Sarah were
members of Windham church in 1726.

years.
In his early years, he lived at Hebron, Connecticut, and moved to Sharon,
Connecticut in 1745, where he lived in that part of the town which was
set off in 1800 as the parish of Ellsworth. He and Lucy were among
the original members of the church organized 15 March 1802 in the new parish.
Their sons and daughters married and settled within one and a half miles
of the homestead.
The town records show that as a householder in Sharon in 1776, Ebenezer
enlisted in a company of minutemen under Capt. Caleb Jewitt.
In Ellsworth churchyard stands a monument which reads:

"Ebenezer Everett, died July 24, 1810, age
88. Lucy Moulton, his wife, died Sept. 28, 1813, aged 85. 'Weeping
may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.' They came
from Hebron in 1745, and were ancestors of the numerous Everitt family
of Sharon. Of nine children, eight settled within one and a half
miles of the paternal residence. Their youngest and last surviving
child died in 1854, one hundred and nine years after they came to Sharon.
This monument is erected as a tribute of respect by their grandchildren
and great-grandchildren." |

died 27 October 1844, widow of Asa Chapman of New Concord, New York, whom
she married 2 January 1777, and daughter of Joshua Chaffee and Mary St.
John. Isaiah was a farmer, and held the rank of captain in the Connecticut
State Militia during the Revolutionary War. Isaiah and Elizabeth

He married Rhoda, who died 2 June 1851, a descendant of Deacon William
Peck who came to New Haven, Connecticut, in the year 1638, from England.
He enlisted as a private on 3 March 1777 for three years, and in April
1778 was transferred to Gen. George Washington's Life Guards, where he
remained until 1780. Family tradition says he was the steward of
Gen. Washington's military family for many years. They lived many
years at Ellsworth Society in the south part of Sharon, and later removed
to Watertown to a farm adjoining that of Francis Smiley, one of the first
settlers of that town. Upon coming to the area, they took up 124
acres of timberland, whcih they began clearing, and lived upon it until
their deaths. Father of:

born 11 December 1797, was reared upon his parents' farm at Watertown
and
received a limited education through books. In December 1819 at age
22, he married Hannah Moss of Dorset, Vermont. After she died, he
married Minerva Crandall, born 16 August 1809, daughter of Ezeriah and
Martha Crandall, of Johnstown, New York. Austin held the office of
under-sheriff under Sheriff John Fay. He was an active Democrat.
He was dead by 1878, but his wife was Minerva was living in that year.
