Children:

  1. John, probably he who was born 1783 and died 16 July 1821, aged 38 years.  He married "Eliza."  Although there is an Elizabeth Stuart in the cemetery, born about 1792, died 6 October 1824, wife of a John Ferguson, it may be that this John's wife was actually Elizabeth Boughton, since it was her two brothers, Andrew and Joseph, who witnessed John's will.  "Eliza" does not appear to have buried with her husband, which would stand to reason, since Elizabeth Boughton remarried and moved to Saratoga County.  Further research is needed.  John made his will on 4 July 1821 in Cobleskill, Schoharie Co., New York, and it was probated on 13 February 1824 in Schenectady County.  In it he names brothers James, Alexander, and Duncan, and sister "Jenny Baker" (Jane Becker, below).  The will was also witnessed by Samuel McClallen.
  2. Jane (Jean), born about 1775 in Edinburgh, Scotland, died 25 July 1841 (DAR bible 19:17).  Her gravestone in Cobleskill says that she died at age 65 on 26 July 1841.  She married Niclaas Becker, born 27 November 1770, baptized 31(?) November 1770 at Schoharie Reformed Church, died 9 August 1839 (DAR bible 19:17).  His gravestone in Cobleskill Rural Cemetery says "died  9 Aug 183? ae 68yrs. 8mo. 23days."  Niclaas and Jane lived at Duanesburg, Schenectady Co., and moved to Cobleskill, Schoharie County, about 1823.  Their son John Becker married Jane(t) Boughton, Jane Ferguson's young sister-in-law.
  3. James, born 19 September 1779, died 2 October 1851, age 72 years, 16 days, in Schenectady Co., New York; married Mary Stuart, born 28 February 1787, died 28 September 1864 in Schenectady County.  His tombstone reads: "A ruling Elder of the First Presbyterian Church of Princetown & Duanesburgh."  the 23rd Psalm is engraved on the stone and in addition says "See also 1 Kings 11; 1, 2, 3, 4 verses and 1 Chron XXVII; 9, 10 verses.
  4. Alexander, born about 1790, died 3 April 1865, aged 75 years.  He married Susan, born about 1792, died 1876, aged 84 years.  Both buried in Duanesburgh, Schenectady Co., New York.
  5. Duncan, born 15 December 1791, died 23 July 1875; married first Hannah Gifford, born 26 September 1792, died 18 March 1859; married second Anna E. Bryant, died 3 April 1872, aged 31 year, 11 months, 7 days.  All are buried in Duanesburgh, Schenectady Co., New York.
