(1) Hermann Schütz,
of Altenburschla in Hessen, Germany, had at least one child:
(2) Conrad Schütz,
a weaver; married 19 May 1687 at Langensebold, Hessen (27 km east of Frankfurt),
Anna
Eichelbörner,
daughter of Clas Eichelbörner
and his wife Margaretha,
according to church record. Anna had
been
born in the nearby village of Rodenbach and baptized at Langensebold 15
August 1661, sponsored by Anna, wife of Peter Kirschner. Clas Eichelbörner
was buried at Langensebold 28 August 1709 "very old".
The baptismal records of Conrad and Anna's children show that between 1696
and 1705 Conrad and Anna moved from Langensebold to Lieblos near the village
of Niedergründau, about 5 kilometers northeast from Langensebold.
The Niedergründau church record of the July 1705 baptism of their
daughter Anna Elisabeth calls him Conrad Schütz, a lineweaver at Lieblos.
Children
(all born at or near Langensebold in Germany):
-
Johann
Michael, born at Sebold and baptized 9 February 1688, sponsored by Michael
Mey, surviving son of John Mey, the landlord "am Markt Dienstknecht".
There is a will for one Michael Shuts dated 1749 in Philadelphia County,
Pennsylvania (Wills I:214)
-
Heinrich,
born at Sebold and baptized 3 August 1690, sponsored by Henrich, surviving
son of Peter Lohfink. No record has been found for him in America.
-
Anna Margaretha,
born at Sebold and baptized 3 November 1693, sponsored by Margretha, daughter
of Wörner Rapp, the Burgmüller; married
Jacob
Zimmerman,
and they settled in the Mohawk Valley of New York State.
-
Anna Catharina,
born at Sebold and baptized 29 April 1696, sponsored by the wife of Philipps
Adam. On 1 November 1715, Leonard Feeg of Schoharie, son of the late
Johann Feeg, formerly a citizen of Oberstein ducy of Nassau-Siegen, was
married by Rev. Joshua Kocherthal to Anna Catharina Schütz, daughter
of the late Conrad Schütz, formerly a citizen of Langen-sellweck (i.e.
Langensebold), earldom of Isenburg. There is ample evidence that
Conrad Schütz was not dead at the time, so "late" must mean "formerly
of" in both cases.
-
Anna Elisabetha,
baptized 12 July 1705, sponsored by Anna Elisabetha Hoffman from Nieder-Seeman
(Niedergründau Church record).
