After the war, he homesteaded in Rosebud Co., Montana. He became involved in the conflict between cattle ranchers and sheep ranchers and was killed when the opposing group dynamited his cabin. Lora went to Colorado Springs, Colorado, about 1884 to visit her sister, Mary "Molly" Smith Jones. There she met and married Joseph J. Webb. They homesteaded a tract 27 miles northeast of Colorado Springs where all three sons were born. Lora and Joseph left Colorado and moved to Missouri in February 1893. Lora and the children traveled by passenger train while Joseph accompanied the personal belongings and livestock on a freight train. Children were: Arlie Xhanticus WEBB, Seth WEBB, Beuford D. WEBB.
