He was a comely child and grew into a strong, nice looking man of five feet six inches height, black hair and gray eyes. Silas stipulated in his will that Tom was to be cared for. Tom is buried next to Silas Gaunt in Rose Hill Cemetery, Breckenridge. Parents: Samuel S. HERSHBERGER and Mary Catherine "Kate" TROSPER.

Her granddaughter, Florence G. Hamilton, age 9, lived with her in Mooresville in 1910. The Hamilton home was the first house north of the Mooresville Cemetery.
