John Blaw was a farmer, and his will described him as a yeo man, which would suggest he owned and worked his own land . His will listed personal property only because he had distributed his real property to his children prior to his death in 1757.
His estate was valued at almost £1000.
Prior to 1742, John Blaw purchased 400 acres of farmland from Abraham Van Horn. He also purchased 95 adjacent acres from Nicolas Lake. The land is located near Blawenburg, Montgomery Twp., Somerset Co., NJ.
His son Jon was named co-executor of his will.
