"STEPHEN WELLMAN was born at Lynn End (Lynnfield), ESSEX, MA on 6, September 1681. He was the second son of ISAAC and HANNA ADAMS WELLMAN. He died at Lynn End on 21, January 1767. His intention of marriage was recorded at Lynn on 27 , April 1706, and on 18 October of that year he married ABI GAIL BOSTON, the daughter of THOMAS and HANNAH BOSTON, at Wells, Maine. ABIGAIL was baptized at Salem on 5, August 1683, and died at Lynnfield, "of two or three days' illness, " on 22, November 1768. STEPHEN was an animal farmer and weaver by trade.

STEPHEN was received into full membership of the church at Lynnfield on 17, August 1720 and his wife ABIGAIL first joined the church on 4, June 1732. Both were still listed as members there in November 1761. On 7, December 1713 he joined with his father ISAAC and brother ISAAC, Jr. and donated his own ? towards the building of a meeting house in Lynn (Lynnfield), MA. He also paid ten shillings to build "the pew his wife is seated in," on 16, March 1716.

STEVEN paid taxes each year at the North Precinct of Lynn between the years 1726 and 1751. His name last appeared in the 1752 tax rolls indicating that in his old age he was not assessed.

He was married to Abigail BOSTON (daughter of Thomas BOSTON and Hannah) on 27 Apr 1706 in Lynn End, ESSEX, MA. Abigail BOSTON was born about 1681 in Wells. She died on 22 Nov 1 768 in Lynn, ESSEX, MA.(27) According to the First Congrega tional Church records at Lynnfield, her death is recorded as"
