The White Family

William White and his brothers came to Pittsburgh, Pa. from
Antrim Co., Ireland some time in the early 1850s. William
worked for the Pennsyvania railroad as well as being a
partner in some of his brothers' businesses and later his
brother-in- law's. Elizabeth Mckibben came to Pittsburgh
from Antrim Co, Ireland just prior to William White who
would soon be her husband unfortunately William's death in
1860 left her with two young children to care for. Elizabeth
McKibben ran a hat shop for more than 30 years .William G.
White was born in Pittsburgh, Pa. circa 1852 . William G.
White was preparing to practice law and commuting between
New York and Pittsburgh when he met and married Elizabeth
Jane Carr in New York City. Sheldon S. and William H.
White were both born in New York City before the family
moved to Pittsburgh, Pa. Sheldon S and William White went
into the plumbing business before the turn of the century
starting S. S. White Plumbing and maintaining that company
for well over 40 years. It is William H. White's son and
daughter who you see in the picture to the right taken circa
1923 in or around Pittsburgh, Pa.
