Ex-Buckley village board member dies
A lifelong Buckley resident, Walter H. Krumwiede, 72, died at 5:45 p.m. Sunday
at Mercy Hospital.
Funeral services at 2 p.m. Thursday at the St. John's Lutheran Church, Buckley,
with the Rev. James E. Brammeier officiating.
Burial at cemetery in Buckley. Visitation Wednesday afternoon and evening at
the Ford Baier Funeral Home, Buckley.
He was born on March 31, 1901, to August and Louise Wolf Krumwiede, Buckley.
He married Emma Bleich, on June 26, 1926, in Thawville.
Krumwiede, a carpenter, grew up in Buckley and attended the St. John's Lutheran
school. He later became a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church and served
as a church elder for nine years.
Krumwiede was active in town affairs. He was a village board member for 11 years,
a member of the Sportsman's club and played on the Buckley Dutchmasters baseball
team for 20 years.
He is survived by his wife, Emma; one daughter, Mrs. Verda Dippel, Buckley; two
grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Elsie Balk, Buckley.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sisters.
Memorials may be made to the St. John's Lutheran Church fund.

Emma Krumwiede celebrated her 91st birthday on Sunday, and went to K&H in
Gilman for a dinner with Verda Dippel, Les and Lisa Dippel and Alexis. On Friday
night she had gone to Triple K in Buckley with Tom and Julie, Nikkie and Mathew
Schuldt.
She died on 10 Nov 1998 in Paxton, Ford County, Illinois.296,297,298

BUCKLEY -- Emma T. Krumwiede, 93, of Buckley died at 7:15 a.m. Tuesday (Nov.
10, 1998) at Ford County Nursing Home, Paxton.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Buckley.
The Rev. Gunard Heikkila will officiate. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery,
Buckley.
Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday at the church.
Ford-Baier Funeral Home, 306 E. Lincoln, Buckley, is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Krumwiede was born Nov. 3, 1905, at Thawville, a daughter of Gus and Olga
Zabel Bleich. She married Walter H. Krumwiede on June 26, 1926, at Thawville.
He died on Sept. 9, 1973.
Survivors include a daughter, Verda O. Dippel of Buckley; a brother, Raymond
Bleich of Paxton; a sister, Frieda Ringeisen of Goodhue, Minn.; two grandchildren;
and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
Mrs. Krumwiede was retired from Chanute Air Force Base laundry. She was a member
of St. John's Lutheran Church, Buckley, where she participated in Ladies Aid
and the choir. She was a former member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Thawville,
where she played the organ. She gave piano lessons and was a member of Buckley
American Legion Auxiliary. She was a White Sox fan.

Mrs. Krumwiede spent her early years in the Thawville and Roberts areas, attending
schools in both communities.
She retired from the Chanute Air Force Base laundry.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Buckley, a member of the Ladies
Aid of the church and the church choir; was a former member of St. Paul's Church,
Thawville, where she played the organ.
She taught piano lessons and was a member of the Buckley American Legion Auxiliary
and was an avid White Sox fan.
