(Mary) Hilgendorf. Her name is also given as Maria in the Marriage Records of
St. John's Lutheran Church, Buckley, Illinois.) Mary Louise HILGENDORF and
Charles Heinrich THEESFELD were married on 30 Jun 1897 in St. John's Lutheran
Church (LCMS), Buckley, Illinois.53,78 The church record reads: "30
Jun: Carl Theesfeld to Maria Hilgendorf by Blanken" Other family records
give their marriage date as 20 Jun, but the church record is quite clear.
Charles Heinrich THEESFELD (son of Hinrich THEESFELD
and Anna Kathrina SIEBENS) was born on 13 Nov 1874 in Benson, Woodford County,
Illinois.10,202 (His obituary gives his place of birth at Flanagan.
It also gives Golden City, Missouri, as a place of prior residence and the place
of death of his wife.) He was baptized on 2 May 1875.202 He was in the news in 1922.29
1 Dec. 1922 - Mr. Chas.Theesfeld received word that a niece of his, a young lady,
was killed at a grade crossing near Woodland, and that her sister was badly injured.
The young ladies, with others, were in a car on their way to a sociable, when
a C&EI train struck the automobile.
He died on 11 Jan 1938 in Buckley, Iroquois County, Illinois.10,203
Our esteemed fellow citizen and friend, C.H. Theesfeld, closed his eyes in death
Tuesday morning at ten o'clock after a year of intense suffering. The entire
community suffered with the pain-torn sufferer. The funeral services were held
Friday afternoon at St. John's church. This spacious building was filled with
mourners. The departed was widely known, and highly respected by all. Mr. Theesfeld
was born at Flanagan, Nov. 13, 1874. Temporarily he lived at Gilman, at Onarga,
at Ashkum and near Golden City, Mo. His wife, nee Marie Hilgendorf, died at Golden
City May 25, 1912. Three years later, Mr. Theesfeld married Mrs. Louise Otten.
The family then moved back to Buckley. The departed is survived by his wife,
four brothers, three sisters, five sons, two daughters, a step-son and two step-daughters.
The near relatives were all present at the funeral. May he rest in peace.
He was buried on 14 Jan 1938 in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Buckley, Illinois.19,53

C.H. Theesfeld leaves widow $5,000.00 Estate
The will of Charles H. Theesfeld, who died January 11, at Buckley, was probated
in County Court, Monday. Mr. Theesfeld leaves $3,500 in real estate and $1,500
in personal property. The entire estate is left to his widow, Mrs. Louise Theesfeld
for her lifetime. At her death the property is to be divided among the children,
Fred, Leo, William, Theodore and Arthur Theesfeld, Anna Krumwiede, Elsie Kuhlman,
Maude Dillinger, Fred Otter and Lean Beebe. A son, Leo Theesfeld is appointed
executor.
Charles Theesfeld is the brother of Ulrich Theesfeld b. 10 Oct 1870 in Woodford
County, Illinois.
Ulrich Theesfeld is the father of Minnie Theesfeld b 2 Sept 1907 in Moorhead,
Minnesota; m Bruno J. Theesfeld 19 Feb 1930 at Crescent City, Illinois.
Bruno Theesfeld b 2 Nov 1883 in Aurich-Scherum, Ost Friesland, Germany is the
brother of Lübbe (Louis) J. Theesfeld, father of Etta Mae Theesfeld.
Etta Mae Theesfeld m. George August Henry Krumwiede, son of Henry C. Krumwiede
and Minna Sprehe and half-brother to Edward Krumwiede m. Anna Theesfeld, daughter
of Charles Theesfeld and Mary Hilgendorf.
Charles Theesfeld m. Mary Hilgendorf, daughter of Friedrich Hilgendorf and Sophia
Krumwiede. This family has produced numerous cousin marraiges. It is now apparent
that all descendants of Minnie Theesfeld and Bruno Theesfeld and all descendants
of Etta Mae Theesfeld and George August Henry Krumwiede are doubly-related in
a cousin relationship.
It will take some time to fully document these connections, but it will eventually
be done.

Leo Theesfeld services to be on Wednesday
Leo E. Theesfeld, 68, owner and operator of a shoe repair shop for more than
40 years in Paxton, died Monday, October 19, at 5:30 a.m. at Paxton Community
Hospital after an illness of one week.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the St. John Lutheran
Church in Buckley, the Rev. Fred Stennfeld officiating. Burial will be in the
church cemetery. Friends may call at the Ford-Baier Funeral Home in Paxton Tuesday
afternoon and evening. The body will be at the church at noon Wednesday.
Mr. Theesfeld was born December 15, 1901, in rural Thawville, son of Charles
and Mary Hilgendorf Theesfeld. He was confirmed in the St. John Lutheran Church
and was graduated from Buckley high school.
Surviving are five brothers, Fred of Ft. Scott, Kan., Bill of Buckley, Theodore
of Danforth, Arthur of Lake City, Mich., and Fred Otten of Loda; three sisters,
Mrs. Elsie Kuhlman of Onarga, Mrs. Mae Alexander of Phoenix, Ariz., and Mrs.
Lena Beebe of Bellair, Mich.; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded
in death by his parents, a brother and a sister.
Mr. Theesfeld was a member of Senior Citizens of Paxton.
He was buried on 21 Oct 1970 in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Buckley, Illinois.19,53
