Fourth Generation

61. Malinda KRUMWIEDE was born on 13 Oct 1890 in Buckley, Iroquois County, Illinois.60
There is a discrepancy in Malinda's date of birth. Her father's biography gives her date of birth as 15 Oct 1893, while her husband's biography gives it as 13 Oct 1890. I have decided on the 1890 date for these records. Had she been born in 1893, she would have been only 12 years old when married. Not impossible, but unlikely. 15 is more reasonable for the time-frame. Also, in Louis' biography in this same history collection, Malinda is named before Leonard. This compiler has an established pattern of listing children in the order of their birth.

There is another discrepancy. I believe this family did not move to Minnesota until the spring of 1900 or even later. Louis Krumwiede's daughter "Linda" is spoken of and referred to in copies of the Buckley Chronicle from 1895 and 1896. A sixth birthday party is mentioned., A notation in the Sept 20, 1895 Buckley Chronicle reads, "Louis Krumwiede's little baby had a touch of cholera infantum bu ti s much better at this writing," though that could refer to her brother, Leonard.

Of the known men named Louis Krumwiede in Buckley, Illinois, only this man could have had a "little baby" in 1895. However, his son apparently was born in Minnesota. I believe that Malinda is Linda, and that she was born in Buckley, Illinois, not Minnesota.

Also, on Oct. 18, 1895, appears: "Last Sunday, little Linda Krumwiede celebrated the sixth anniversary of her birthday. Quite a number of her little friends met at her home to make the day pleasant for her." "Last Sunday" from Oct. 18, 1895, is Oct. 13.

She died before 1990. Assumed

There is no biography for anyone named Bodeman, but there is a short biography for Charlie Severson, which is the person you are looking for (as mentioned in Louis Krumweide's biography). It is as follows:

CHARLIE SEVERSON (1890), of Enterprise township, was born in Wabasha county, Minnesota, October 14, 1879, the son of Charlie and Minnie (Moglind) Severson. The former emigrated from Denmark in 1876; the latter, who is now deceased, was born in New York state.
The subject of this biography moved with his parents from Wabasha county to Jackson county in March, 1890, and grew to manhood on a Hunter township farm. He secured a common school education and made his home with his parents until 1904. That year he went west and one year resided in the Big Bend country of central Washington. Returning, he located on a farm two miles east of Lakefield, and in 1909 moved to his present farm, the northeast quarter of section 34, Enterprise.
Mr. Severson was married August 5, 1906, to Milanda Krumwede, of Lakefield, who was born October 13, 1890.
Malinda's first and last name were misspelled in the biography.

He died before 1979. Assumed Malinda KRUMWIEDE and Charles SEVERSON had the following children:

188

i.

Myrdtle SEVERSON.

189

ii.

Earnest SEVERSON.
