Hi Loretta,
I'm glad this information from Jackson could be of some help. This is
the only entry for Krumwiede, they are not mentioned in the second volume which
was published about 1960. No mention of the Severson family either. Of course
not everyone submitted information so it doesn't always mention all families.
I am not the CC of Jackson County, just a former resident, graduated from Jackson
High School in 1963 and left, I've been back for funerals and high school reunions.
Anyway here is the bio. The (1899) in brackets is the year of arrival in Jackson
County.

LOUIS KRUMWIEDE, (1899) is a farmer and landowner of Hunter township, residing
two and one-half miles east of Lakefield. His parents are Henry and Dora (Sternberg)
Krumwiede, who reside in Iroquois county, IIlinois. They came from Germany soon
after their marriage, lived a few years in Cook county, Illinois, and in the
early seventies located in Iroquois county. They are the parents of nine children,
as follows: Mary, Henry, August, Fred, Louis, Emma, Bertha, Will and George.
Louis was born in Cook county, Illinois, January 22, 1864. When a child
he accompanied his parents to Iroquois county, and that was his home until be
came to Jackson county. He was educated in the district schools and in a German
school at Buckley, and worked on his father's farm until twenty-five years of
age. He was married in 1889 and for the next ten years engaged in farming on
his own account and worked at the carpenter's trade in Buckley, which he followed
three years. Mr. Krumwiede came to Jackson county in 1899 and bought the northeast
quarter of section 2, Hunter township, upon which be has since resided. On the
place at the time of purchase was a dug-out, built by an early settler. This
he has replaced by a modern home and he has made other improvements, including
a complete system of tiling.
At Buckley, Iroquois (county, Illinois, on December 18, 1889, Mr. Krumwiede
was united in marriage to Mary Larson,(sic) who was born in Cook county, Illinois,
November 20, 1870. To them have been born two children: Malinda (Mrs. Charles
Severson), of Enterprise township, born October I5, 1893; Leonard, born January
14, 1893. Mr. Krumwiede is a member of the German Lutheran church.
Note: Malinda's date of birth is reported incorrectly here. The first clue is
her brother's date of birth. Although possible, not likely. The second clue is
that Malinda is listed first, and this author has a pattern of listing children
in order of age. The third clue is in the biography for Charles Severson found
elsewhere in the book, which gives Malinda a date of birth in of 13 Oct 1890.
This is likely correct. If she had been born in 1893 she would have been only
12 years old at her marriage. Even 15 is young, but more likely.
He appeared in the census in 1880 in Artesia Township, Iroquois County, Illinois.
He appears as the 16-year-old son of Henry Krumwiede, with "works on farm"
as occupation, on Film Number T9-10213, Page 13B He appeared in the census in
1920 in Lakefield Township, Jackson County, Minnesota.

on 18 Dec 1889 in St. John's Lutheran Church (LCMS), Buckley, Illinois.61,62
Witnesses to the ceremony were: Wilhelm Lausen, George Krumwiede, Bertha Krumwiede,
and Sophia Lausen.
Kathleen French, a descendant of Maria's sister Bertha, has 12 Dec 1889 as a
marriage date. The church record needs to be checked again. Maria
S LAUSEN (daughter of Henry John LAUSEN and Louise DREYER) was born on 20
Nov 1870 in Cook County, Illinois.60
She died before 1970. Assumed Until this marriage record was found
in the St. John's Lutheran Church records at Buckley, Illinois, it was thought
that her name was a variant spelling of Luhrsen. The official marriage record
makes it quite clear that her surname was LAUSEN. Also, until this record was
found, there had been no record of her given name. Louis KRUMWIEDE and Maria
S LAUSEN had the following children:
