Mrs. Reinhold Stuermer Died on Christmas Day

Clara Krumwiede Stuermer
Born March 16, 1887; died December 25, 1912; aged 25 years, 9 months, 9 days

The death of this young wife and mother came as a distressing shock to her large circle of relatives, friends and acquaintances. Only a few of the more intimate and near neighbors knew that she was ill. She was a victim of pneumonia, that dread disease for which medical science has as yet discovered no certain remedy.
Clara Krumwiede was born at Buckley, Ill., and on the death of her mother, which occurred when she was six months old, became the ward of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. H. Krumwiede. In this home she was idolized and given every encouragement and help in the important matters of religion and education. She was one of the brightest pupils in the German Lutheran school at Buckley, taught by J. M. Gross, who has taught the same school for over 25 years.
About ten years ago her grandparents moved from Illinois to Sherburn, Minn., where they made their home until about seven years ago when they returned to Illinois. Miss Clara came with them and within two years met and was won by Reinhold Stuermer, a prosperous young farmer of southeast Belmont township. Here the young couple have enjoyed a happy home-a paradise on earth-and the
removal of the beloved wife leaves the home desolate indeed.
To Mr. and Mrs. Stuermer were born two sweet little girls, Lydia, aged five, and Esther, aged four.
The near relatives surviving Mrs. Stuermer are: Grandfather and Grandmother Krumwiede, of Buckley, Ill., who were too feeble to make the long journey to attend the sad rites of interment; her father, Henry Krumwiede, also of Buckley, Ill., sister, Mrs. Lydia Sodeman, of this place; also several half sisters and half brothers. She was related to the Krumwiede, Severson, Fricke, Pohlman, Bretzman and Gentz families, all of this neighborhood.
The funeral was held Sunday from the Lakefield German Lutheran church, the impressive services being conducted by the pastor, Rev. Ristau. It was attended by a large concourse of relatives and sympathizing friends.
Interment was in the German Lutheran cemetery west of town.
Those from a distance in attendance at the funeral were: Henry, the father, of Thawell, Ill.; Fred and William Krumwiede, uncles, of Buckley, Ill.; Wm. Hartke, an uncle, and his son Henry, of Sherburn; Theo. Freitag and Chas. Wilkins, cousins, also of Sherburn.

It is our desire to thus publicly acknowledge our gratitude to the many friends who offered help and sympathy in the hour of our deep affliction.
Reinhold Stuermer and relatives.
