MONTICELLO - Donald W. Steinmann, 70, of Monticello, formerly of Buckley,
died Friday (July 4, 1997) at Covenant Medical Center, Urbana, from complications
of pneumonia. Services were held at 2:30 p.m. today at St. John's Lutheran Church,
Buckley. The Rev. Gunard Heikkila officiated. Burial was in St. John's Cemetery,
Buckley. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice. Arrangements were
handled by Ford-Baier Funeral Home, Buckley. He was born March 14, 1927, in
Buckley, the son of Alwin F. and Helena Lustfeldt Steinmann. Surviving are two
brothers, Vernon Steinmann of S. Nyack, N.Y., and Delmar Steinmann of Buckley; one
sister, Lillian Whisnant of Melvin; three nieces and two nephews. Deceased
are his parents and one brother, Erwin Steinmann. Mr. Steinmann attended St.
John's Lutheran School in Buckley and graduated from Buckley High School. He
retired from Kraft Foods, Champaign, in 1989. Mr. Steinmann served in the U.S.
Navy from 1945-1947. He was a member of the Thunderbird Club and the Buckley
American Legion Post. He was buried on 6 Jul 1997 in St. John's Lutheran
Cemetery, Buckley, Illinois. (2) Section C, Row 5,
