Emil Krumwiede Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon in
Buckley for Emil Krumwiede, 54, well-known farmer of that community, who died at
his home there last Wednesday, June 19, as a result of heart trouble, with which
he had suffered for nine days. Services were held at 1 o'clock at the home and later
at the Buckley Lutheran church. The deceased leaves his widow, the former Theda
Hankey, and three children -- a married daughter, Mrs. Ray Heimlich of Cissna Park,
and two sons at home. The following week, on June 27, the following obituary
was run. BUCKLEY --Mr. Emil Krumwiede, apparently somewhat improved from
a serious condition of illness, suddenly collapsed Wednesday morning at 1:30 o'clock.
That was a keen blow to his many friends and relatives. The funeral services were
held Sunday afternoon at St. John's church. A very large congregation of grief-stricken
relatives and friends met to pay the last respects. The deceased was a son of Mr.
and Mrs. H.C. Krumwiede. He attained an age of 53 years. Mr. Krumwiede leaves to
mourn his loss his bereaved widow, one son, one daughter, besides many other relatives.
Emil Krumwiede was one of the quiet in the land, but a man with a big heart and a
tender, conscientious soul. Always friendly, always accommodating his friends were
numberless. Everybody liked Emil Krumwiede. He will truly be missed in the family
and fraternal circles. A very long concourse of automobiles followed the remains
to the last resting place. He was buried on 23 Jun 1940 in St. John's Lutheran
Cemetery, Buckley, Illinois. (5)(2)

He was married to Theda HANKEY (daughter of John HANKEY and Christine OSTERHOUSE)
on 19 Dec 1917. Theda HANKEY was born on 6 Sep 1900 in

Theda Tholen Theda Tholen, 80, Cissna Park, died at 12:25 a.m.
Thursday, Jan. 1 at Prairieview Lutheran Home, Danforth. She was born Sept.
6, 1900 at Ashkum, the daughter of John and Christena Osterhaus Hankey. She married
Emil Krumwiede at Buckley on Dec. 19, 1917. He died June 11, 1940. She married Henry
Tholen on Nov. 5, 1942 and he died Sept. 11, 1954. Survivors include a daughter,
Verna Heimlich, Cissna Park; a son, LeRoy Krumwiede, Clifton; three step-daughters,
Irene Bungard, Denver, Colo., Edna Froidcouer, Melvin and Helen Lambert, Gilman;
eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and several step-grandchildren.
Also surviving are three brothers, Frank Hankey, Milford, Elmer Hankey and Henry
Hankey, Watseka; five sisters, Grace Stam, Sheldon, Alma Schult, Woodworth, Charlotte
Redeker, Crescent City, Anna Shafer, Watseka and Mark Geiken, Milford. A son preceded
her in death. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church at Cissna Park, where
services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. Dale Kleimola will officiate
with burial at St. John's Lutheran cemetery, Buckley. Visitation will be from
3 to 8 p.m. today at Knapp Funeral Home, Cissna Park. Memorials may be made to the
Trinity Lutheran Building Fund or to Prairieview Lutheran Home. She was
buried on 3 Jan 1981 in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Buckley, Illinois. (2)(5)
