(51)(5) Adolph Krumwiede, Sr. Dies Saturday
Adolph Fredrick Krumwiede, Sr., 68, Cissna Park, lifelong resident of Artesia
and Ash Grove townships, died Saturday at 6 a.m. at Iroquois hospital in Watseka
where he was admitted last week. Born November 11, 1889 at Buckley, he was a
son of Henry and Caroline Schoh Krumwiede and was married January 19, 1918 to Margaret
Teske at the St. John Lutheran church of Ash Grove of which he was a member. He retired
from active farming in 1954 and moved to Cissna Park. Surviving are his wife,
two sons, Adolph, Jr., and Delbert Krumwiede of Cissna Park, two daughters, Mrs.
Evelyn Zabel of Onarga and Mrs. Elvera Marcus of Chicago; 13 grandchildren; a twin
brother, Martin Krumwiede of Onarga, and a sister, Mrs. Alma Heimlich of Wisconsin.
Half-brothers and half-sisters are Henry Krumwiede of Buckley, Herman Krumwiede
of Gibson City, George Krumwiede of Ft. Wayne, Ind., Fred Krumwiede of Paxton, Carl
Krumwiede of Thawville, Mrs. Laura Walwer of Peoria, Mrs. Lydia Teske, Mrs. Caroline
Seggebruch, Mrs. Rose Weber and Mrs. Hilda Eckoff, all of Onarga. He was preceded
in death by four brothers, a sister and his parents. A World War I overseas
veteran in France, Mr. Krumwiede was a member of Byron Hickerson post No. 432, The
American Legion, at Buckley. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at
1:30 p.m. at the Knapp funeral home in Cissna Park and at 2 p.m. at the St. John
Lutheran church of Ash Grove. The pastor, the Rev. William Schilling, will officiate
and interment will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home
from 4 p.m. Monday and until time for the rites. [The original of this
obituary consistently mis-spells the family's name as Krumweide.] He was
buried on 14 Jan 1958 in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Ash Grove Twp., Onarga, Illinois.
He was married to Margaret TESKE (daughter of August TESKE and Margaret KOESTER)
on 20 Jan 1918 in St. John's Lutheran Church, Ash Grove Twp., Onarga, Illinois.

Krumwiede Margaret Krumwiede, 82, formerly of Cissna Park, died at 10 a.m.
Wednesday, Sept. 24 (1980), at Salem Village, Joliet. She was born Dec. 21,
1897 at Ash Grove to August and Margaret Koester Teske. She married Adolph Krumwiede
on January 20, 1918 at Ash Grove. He died January 11, 1958. Survivors include
two daughters, Evelyn Zabel, Joliet, and Elvera Marcus, Addison; two sons, Adolph
Krumwiede, Jr., Cissna Park, and Delbert Krumwiede, New Lenox; 41 grandchildren and
18 great-grandchildren. Other survivors include three sisters, Anna Brutlag, Watseka,
Doretta Sprehe, Joliet and Louise Sorenson, Milford; three brothers, William Teske,
Riverdale, Edwin Teske, Loda and Walter Teske, Niles, Michigan. She was preceded
in death by four brothers and two sisters. Mrs. Krumwiede was a member of St.
John's Lutheran Church, Ash Grove and was a charger member of the Ladies Aid of the
church. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the church with the
Rev. Rodney Blomquist officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation
will be after 4 p.m. Saturday at Knapp Funeral Home, Cissna Park. Memorials may be
made to St. John's Lutheran Church. She was buried on 28 Sep 1980 in St.
John's Lutheran Cemetery, Ash Grove Twp., Onarga, Illinois. Adolph Ferdinand Friedrich
