Ernest J. Krumwiede

Ernest John Krumwiede, 44, who died Friday evening at his home in Chebanse after several months' illness with heart disease, was buried Tuesday following services in the Chebanse Lutheran church. The Rev. W. W. Winter was in charge of the services.
Born December 26, 1893, at Buckley, the deceased was the son of Henry and Caroline Krumwiede, and in 1916 he married Ida Saathoff, who preceded him in death in 1929. Besides four children, Elmer, Mildred, Marvin and Orval, all of Chebanse, the deceased leaves five brothers and two sisters, as follows: Emil, Louis, Adolph, Martin, all of Buckley; Edward of Cissna Park; Mrs. George Tholen of Onarga, and Mrs. Paul Heimlich of Paxton. He also leaves five half-brothers and five half-sisters: Henry, Herman, George, Fred, Carl, Rosa, Hilda, Mrs. Caroline Ziebrock (Seggebruch) and Mrs. John Teske, all of Buckley, also Mrs. Jake Walwer of Watseka.

He was buried on 12 Oct 1937 in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Buckley, Illinois. ⁽²⁾ Section B, Row 31B, Plot 35. Tombstone: Parents of : Elmer, 1917, Mildred, 1920
Marvin 1929; Orval 1929. His obituary does not make his burial in this cemetery clear, stating only that the services were held in Chebanse Lutheran Church.

Ernst was known for his physical strength. His half-brother George described him as strong as an ox and the strongest man he ever knew. His half-brother "Fritz" and nephew Lorenz agree with that assessment, providing, however that Herman "Pete" Krumwiede, Ernst's half-brother, had more stamina and could out-work him over the course of a day.

He was married to Ida Victoria SAATHOFF on 21 Dec 1916. Ida Victoria SAATHOFF was born on 21 Dec 1897. She died on 6 Mar 1929. She was buried about 9 Mar 1929 in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Buckley, Illinois. ⁽²⁾ Section B, Row 31B, Plot 35 Ernst Joachim Heinrich KRUMWIEDE and Ida Victoria SAATHOFF had the following children:
