PAXTON - Joan C. Burklund, 60, of rural Paxton, formerly of Loda, died Tuesday (Jan. 29, 2002) at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, after a short illness.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday at the Ford-Baier Funeral Home, Paxton, and from 9:30 a.m. Saturday until the 10:30 a.m. services at the First Lutheran Church, Paxton. Rev. Barbara Busboom will officiate.
Burial will be in Glen Cemetery, Paxton.
Memorials may be made to the First Lutheran Church, Paxton; the American Cancer Society; or to a charity of the donor's choice.
She was born Nov. 15, 1941, in rural Loda, the daughter of Henry and Viola Hartke Garrelts. Her parents are deceased.
Surviving are her husband, Gerald H. Burklund, whom she married June 18, 1963, in Buckley; two brothers, Robert Garrelts of rural Buckley, Lonnie (Mary) Garrelts of Lake Iroquois, Loda; two sisters, Yvonne (Emory) Price of Baldwin, Kan., Karen Garrelts of Urbana; and one sister-in-law, Ruth Garrelts of Buckley.
One brother is deceased.

She was buried on 2 Feb 2002 in Glen Cemetery, Paxton, Ford County, Illinois.
