Death takes Rev. Theodore Hilgendorf
The Rev.
Theodore H. Hilgendorf died Saturday, July 13, 1974, at Beloit Memorial Hospital
at Beloit, Wisc.
He was born April 5, 1904, at Buckley to the late Fred and Sophia
Krumwiede Hilgendorf. He spent his early years in Buckley, attended and graduated
from teh Theological Seminary at Springfield, Ill., was ordained into the ministry
of the Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod, at Buckley in June of 1928.
The Rev. Hilgendorf
was married June 17, 1928 to Gertrude Zuberbier. Surviving are his wife; three sons
and three daughters, Mrs. William (Gertrude) Bessert of Onarga, Eugene of Indianapolis,
Mrs. Rosalind Trutts of Sheboygan, Wis., the Rev. Hilbert Hilgendorf of Appleton,
Wisc\., Erhardt of Oak Forrest and Mrs. Kenneth (Eunice) Sands of Beloit; 21 grandchildren;
and three brothers, Edward of Buckley, the Rev. Carl Hilgendorf of Jackson, Mo.,
and Arthur of Donovan.
A son, Victor; a grandchild, three brothers and five sisters
preceded him in death.
Pastor Hilgendorf served parishes in North Dakota, Minnesota,
Nebraska, Illinois and Wisconsin during his 45 years in the ministry. He retired
June 17, 1973.
Burial was Tuesday, July 16, in the Trinity Lutheran cemetery in
the town of Rantoul, Wisconsin.
He was married to Gertrude ZUBERBIER on 17 Jun 1928. Theodore
Henry HILGENDORF and Gertrude ZUBERBIER had the following children:

of Former Buckley Man Dies from Crash Injuries
Word was received by Mr.
and Mrs. Arthur Hilgendorf, Donovan, of the death of Victor Hilgendorf, 18, son of
Rev. Theodore Hilgendorf, residing at Hilbert, Wis., who died from injuries suffered
in an automobile crash on December 2, near Omaha, Neb. Funeral services were held
in Hilbert December 24 (1954) with burial at Hilbert.
Victor, a theological student
at Winfield, Kan., was en route to Columbus, Neb. where he planned to spend the holidays
with his brother, Rev. Hilbert Hilgendorf.
The deceased is survived by parents,
three sisters and three brothers, aunts, uncles and numerous cousins.
