From the illness which befell him about five weeks ago, he did not recover because it was God's will that he should leave this world. During his last illness he suffered at times severely. In all his suffering, however, the Word of God afforded still comfort and strength to bear patiently the heavy burden the Lord had layed upon him. To keep himself prepared for a blessed death he partook yet of Holy Communion. He acknowledged his sinful condition and truly believed in Jesus whose blood cleanses us from all sins. Repeatedly he confessed .his trust in the Savior, and to his very last hour he was privileged to enjoy the comforts of God's Word. Well prepared for a blessed death, he fell asleep in Jesus last Saturday evening and is now delivered from. all pain and suffering. His rather early departure is mourned by his bereaved wife. two sons, two daughters, one son-in4aw, three grandchildren, six 'brothers, "three sisters, and many other relatives and friends.
