(Bruno) THEESFELD was born on 2 Nov 1893 in Aurich, Hanover, Germany.7 This is the same town in which
his siblings were born. It seems that Aurich and its surrounding area were once
part of Hanover, now Ost Friesland. Bruno was adamant about his place of birth
being given as Aurich in Hanover. He died on 25 Dec 1973 in Kankakee, Illinois.8

Bruno Theesfeld, 80, of St. Anne, died at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 25, at
St. Mary Hospital in Kankakee.
He was born November 2, 1883, in Germany, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Theesfeld,
and came to the United States in 1917.
Surviving are his wife, Minnie, to whom he was married February 19, 1930, at
Crescent City; a daughter, Mrs. Edna Franklin of Momence; five sons, Edwin of
Watseka, George of Kankakee, and Allen, Robert and Albert, all of St. Anne; 22
grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren; and
a sister, Mrs. Trientje Rosenboom of Watseka.
Services at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 29, at the Houk Funeral Home in St. Anne,
and burial in St. Anne cemetery. Visitation Friday from 4 to 9 p.m. at the funeral
home.

After checking several generations back, it was determined that Bruno and Minne
were not related to each other. Minnie Almuth THEESFELD
(daughter of Ulrich THEESFELD and Friedricke HASBARGEN) was born on 2 Sep 1907
in Moorhead, Minnesota.7
She died on 7 Feb 1983 in Kankakee, Illinois.7,9
Minnie Theesfeld
Minnie Theesfeld, 75, a former St. Anne resident who lived at Momence Terrace
Nursing Home, died at 2:45 p.m. Monday, Feb. 7, 1983, at Riverside Hospital,
Kankakee.
She was born Sept. 2, 1907, at Moorhead, Minn., to Ulrich and Friederika Hasbargen
Theesfeld. She married Bruno Theesfeld, who died Dec. 25, 1973.
Survivors include one daughter, Edna Franklin, Momence; five sons, Edwin of Watseka,
Robert, Allen and Albert of St. Anne, and George of Kankakee; 22 grandchildren;
15 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Dan of Kankakee and Martin of Middleton,
Wisc.; and two sisters, Kate Rapp, Pontiac, and Tena Cumbow, Danville.
One grandson, two great-grandchildren; one brother and two sisters are deceased.
Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday at Houk Funeral Home, St. Anne.
The Rev. Harold Hinzig will officiate, with burial in St. Anne Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
