WATSEKA -- Mary Lou Carter, 72, of Watseka, died Sunday (May 4, 2003) at Watseka
Health Care Center.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Wednesday until the noon services at Our Savior
Lutheran Church, Milford, where she was a member. Rev. Don Stuckwisch will officiate.
Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Watseka.
Memorials may be made to Iroquois Memorial Hospice, Our Savior Lutheran Church,
Milford or to the donor's choice.
Baier Funeral Home, Watseka, is in charge of arrangements.
She was born April 28, 1931, in Crescent City Township, the daughter of George
and Trientje Theesfield (sic) Rosenboom.
Her first husband, Milton Reiter, is deceased.
Surviving are her husband, Delmar "Bill" Carter, whom she married Sept.
21, 1954, in Watseka; two sons and one daughter-in-law, David and Jeannie Reiter
of Maryland, James Carter of Wisconsin; one daughter and son-in-law, Diane and
William Rankin of Hoopeston; one brother and sister-in-law, Louis and Dorothy
Rosenboom of Buckley; two grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews, including
special niece, Joyce Williams.
Two brothers and two sisters are deceased.
Mrs. Carter was very active in her church, where she was a Sunday School teacher
and a member of the Dorcas Club.
She enjoyed baking cakes and flowers.
Mary Lou ROSENBOOM and Milton REITER were married on 7 Aug 1949 in Crescent
City, Illinois. Milton REITER was born
on 3 Jun 1926. He died on 15 Jul 1951 in Watseka, Iroquois County,
Illinois. He died of boating accident. Mary Lou ROSENBOOM
