Death*8 October 2007 She died on 8 October 2007 at age 60; Loreauville—A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Ned Dugas, the former Elaine Louviere, 60, will be celebrated in St. Joseph Catholic Church. The Reverend Mario Romero will serve as celebrant. Entombment will follow in Holy Family Mausoleum.
Mrs. Dugas passed away on Monday, October 8, 2007 at 6:40 A.M. in a New Iberia care facility.
A native and lifelong resident of Loreauville, Mrs. Dugas was a former employee of the old Dauterive Hospital, and had also worked for Dr. Roy Landry and MedWorks. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Mrs. Dugas adored her grandchildren, whom she lovingly called "Bub" and "Rouzie". She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and was a loving and generous daughter and sister. Mrs. Dugas adored her husband of forty years, Ned Dugas, who was also her best friend.
Survivors include her husband, Ned Paul Dugas of Loreauville; parents, Mrs. and Mrs. Alton (Emily Verret) Louviere of Loreauville; daughters, Michele Dugas Burke and husband, Robert P. Burke, Jr. of Loreauville and Kristi Merie Dugas and companion, Sherry Trahan of Indian Bayou; grandchildren, Robert "Trey" Burke, III and Skyllar Burke of Loreauville; sisters, Lucy Louviere Trahan and husband, Howard "Joe" of Loreauville and Bridget Louviere Trahan and husband, Craig "Bob" of Loreauville; mother-in-law, Lou Ella Dugas of St. Martinville; nieces, Lauren Barnett, Jessica Trahan, and Tiffany Trahan of Loreauville;and nephews, Koi and Zayne Dauphine of Loreauville. Mrs. Dugas was also blessed to be Godmother to many.
Preceding Mrs. Dugas in death were her first husband, Richard Daigle; and a brother, Willie Martin Verret, Jr.
Serving as pallbearers are Robert P. Burke, Jr., Robert "Trey" Burke, III, Craig "Bob" Trahan, Richard Daigle, Chris Dugas, and Shaney Duplechain. Named as honorary pallbearers are Orsen Daigle, Sr., Howard "Joe" Trahan; and Betty Sonnier Freeman.
David Funeral Home of Loreauville, 118 Main Street, Loreauville, LA 70552 is in charge of arrangements.
