Helene Landry
F, #157, b. 1757, d. before 1775
| | |
| | |
| Birth* | 1757 | Helene Landry was born in 1757 at Oxford, Maryland; ? The parents of Théotiste Thibodeau was Charles Thibodeau and Brigette Breau. Théotiste Thibodeau was enumerated in the census of Cabannocey in 1766 as the widow of Bonnaventure Godin and living with her five year old daughter Susanne Godin. Théotiste Thibodeaux Godin, Bonnaventure Godin, and her parents were emprisoned at Halifax until the treaty of 1763. It is believed by some that she and her mother came to Louisiana with Beausolil Broussard.
When Firmin Landry arrived in Louisiana, now a widower of his first wife Françoise Thibodeau (parents unknown) and the father of 4 (2 girls were born in Maryland prior to the 1766 census), he married Théotiste Thibodeau and the family (including Théotiste's daughter established in the Attakapas (St. Martinville), where Firmin is listed in the 1769 Opelousas cattle brand book.
Brigette Breaud died in St. Martinville. No record of the date that her father Charles Thibodeau died. He apparently died in prison or on the trip to Louisiana.
