The Master Genealogist (TMG)
The UFT database is now nearly converted to TMG.
I'm working on the implementation of the Dutch translation file, written by Harry Goegebuer.
Also on the upgrade from TMG4 to TMG5.
And the use of the related TMG tools, as Second Site, TMG Utilities, ... .
The upgrade TMG 5.09.000, the first with all the features I need, is available since August 2003.
I expect to have the conversion done in October.
And the data records of my direct ascendants (and their descendants) proofread before the end of this year.
With Second Site (a HTML generator) we have a tool that is very usefull for proofreading your data.
Stam
This new package (only in Dutch) will be used for data exchange with other researchers in Flanders.
Ultimate Family Tree v2.9
My primary genealogical database was maintained with Roots III (and upgraded until Ultimate Family Tree v2.9).
In 2000 it did contain 3823 individuals, 748 surnames, 1320 marriages and 316 place names.
2744 sources are documented.
The last correct backup was taken before I did start the general revision of my data for this book.
The others did exist, but did have the same technical problem.
I've decided to re-enter all data, because of this technical problem,
but also because I wasn't aware in 1986 of some genealogical methods, concerning data quality.
In 2002 still 3000 records to do.
Also some research must be re-done, because I didn't have a "paper" backup for a quite large group of records.
This concerns mainly the lists of ALL civil registrations for some surnames and municipalities.
And all images will be imported in the database (the resizing problem is solved with the UFT version 3.0).
But UFT was acquired by Genealogy.com and dumped some months after that.
Cumberland Family Tree for Windows v2.0
I've used the package "Cumberland Family Tree" in 1997/1998 to re-enter my data, after the crash. It's a very good package,
but lacked some "GEDCOM event" oriented features, typical for Roots & Ultimate Family Tree.
