Genealogy Weekend April 1999
Maddux Cousins Genealogy Interest Group will have a Maddux Cousins Genealogy Weekend in Tucson, Arizona April 10-11. We had such a good time last May 1998 that we decided to do it again. This time LeeAnn Maddux Parkinson has graciously offered her home for the event. She says that Tucson in the spring is beautiful. My husband and I are planning on hitting the desert after Sunday. We heard that the cactus will be in bloom and that it is a sight to see.
Anyway we thought that Tucson would be a great spot for getting together because it is closer to the middle of the US and we want to meet as many new cousins as we can. We are going to have a great time. Midge is working on getting all of the stories together that have come in from the MCuz mail list. I will be bringing boxes of books that I have collected with Maddux info in them. Donna is bringing some of her books on the Poe side of the family. LeeAnn has a lot of great information that she will be sharing. We are so excited about this event and hope to find and meet a lot of new cousins. Many large airlines fly into Tucson but most connect through Phoenix International Airport, only an hour and forty five minutes from Tucson. If you are on a budget or trying to save some dollars on airfare, flying into Phoenix can save you a good deal of money - just rent your car there and drive to Tucson.
