MALCOLM, elder son of Duncan - Malcolm, as a good king, is everything that Macbeth is not. He uses deception only to insure his personal safety. A friend of Macbeth's in the beginning of the play. He is scared of Macbeth after the death of his father Duncan. At the end of the story he is one of the driving forces that causes Macbeth to be overthrown.
