Ashtabula County Historical Society
(Information obtained from literature obtained at the ACHS.)

The Ashtabula County Historical Society was formed on July 16, 1838 for the purpose of preserving the history of Ashtabula County.

OUR NUMBER ONE GOAL today is providing good, local history information for all interested residents of the county. We accomplish this through:

  1. Special Exhibits

    • Our Museums feature specially prepared exhibits on local history topics for each summer season and for special events in the museums.

  2. Society Notes & Quarterly Bulletin

    • Four times each year, our newsletter, Society News, informs members about ACHS events, programs and special news. Each issue includes the Quarterly Bulletin, a periodical of history and heritage in Ashtabula County.

  3. Programs and Workshops

    • Special Programs on Ashtabula County history and its preservation are held throughout the year at sites around the county. ACHS members and county residents are invited to attend.

  4. Speakers Bureau

    • ACHS members are available to present slide shows, suitcase museums and talks on local history to organizations, clubs and youth groups in our county.
