He had been in ill health for the past four years. He was a retired farmer. Mr. Austin was born January 29th 1923 in Lafe, Arkansas. On May 25th 1947, he was married to Nana Hall and she died September 20th 1987. Mr. Austin was a veteran of World War Two. He had been a resident of Poplar Bluff for the past 17 years. Survivors include one son, Gregory Austin of Rombauer; one daughter, Peggy Johnson of Qulin; one brother, George Austin of Broseley; one sister, Evelyn Hyde of Ferguson; and three grandchildren. Services will be at 2.00 PM Monday at White- Sanders Funeral Home in Qulin. The Rev. Wayne Wagster will officiate. Burial will be in Brown Chapel Cemetery in Broseley. She had been ill several months. Services will be held at 2.00 PM Tuesday in Cotrell Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Louis Brayton will officiate with burial in Brown Chapel Cemetery in Broseley, Missouri. Visitation begins at 7.00 PM tonight at the funeral home. A lifelong resident of Butler County, Mrs. Sedrick was born January 17th 1901 in Stoddard County. She was first married to Jess Portenberry, who preceded her in death. She later married Louis Sedrick. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Leora Brown of Wichita, Kansas; two brothers, Byrd Colter of Qulin and Leonard Colter of Poplar Bluff; two sisters, Mrs. Edna Norman and Mrs. Clara Smith both of Poplar Bluff. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Daily American Republic Poplar Bluff, Missouri May 9th 1983 Wilma Evelyn Sedrick, 58, 1307 South 11th Street, died unexpectedly of a heart attack about 7.30 PM Monday. She was pronounced dead on arrival at Poplar Bluff Hospital, where she was employed as a nurse aide. She had lived in Butler County since 1967. She was born August 7th 1924 at Harviell, Missouri. She was a member of The New Testament Baptist Church. On November 30th she married Virgil Lee Sedrick at Qulin, Missouri. He died January 17th 1983. Surviving are six children, Charles Sedrick of Vivian, Louisiana, Shirley Carter of Hillsboro, Missouri, Ron Sedrick of south Elgin, Illinois, Linda Pearson of Batesville, Arkansas, and Kathy Malpass and Patty Sedrick, both of Poplar Bluff; her mother, Ruby Lewis of Poplar Bluff; one brother, Clifford Crunk of Poplar Bluff; sixteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 3.00 PM Wednesday at The New Testament Baptist Church, with the Rev. David Hahn officiating. Burial will be in the City Cemetery. She was born May 29th 1914 in Storey, Arkansas, Mrs. Melton was married March 16th 1957 to Verlin "Bud" Melton in Hernando, Mississippi. He survives along with four daughters, Genevieve Bernell and Patricia Krapf, both of Saint Louis, Shirley Walden of Bloomington, Illinois, and Vera Pendergrass of Puxico; one son, Kenneth Bagwell of Ashville, North Carolina; One brother, Adolph Goodman of Qulin; one sister, Pansey Rowland of Licking; twelve grandchildren and two great- grandchildren. The funeral will begin at 1.30 PM Sunday in Landess Funeral Chapel in Campbell. The Rev. Larry Ward will officiate. Burial will be in Qulin Cemetery. Mr. Hall was born September 10th 1910 in Dyer County, Tennessee. A retired truckdriver, he was a veteran of World War Two and attended the Baptist Church. Survivors include two brothers, Hubert Hall and Tom Hall both of Qulin; two sisters, Hazel Scott of Qulin and Myra Luepke of Poplar Bluff. Visitation will be at 6.00 PM Tuesday at Landess Funeral Home in Campbell. The funeral will be at 2.00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home chapel with the Rev. David Smith officiating. Mr. Hall was born December 29th 1908 in Dyer county, Tennessee. He was a member and Trustee of the Qulin Trinity Pentecostal Church and was a retired farmer. On September 26th 1936 he married Pauletta Scott in Poplar Bluff. She preceded him in death January 8th 1980. Survivors include three sons, Burlin Sanders and wife Beverly of Louisiana, Charles Hall and wife Marilyn of Ellisville, Missouri, and Brandon Hall of St. Louis; three daughters, Louise Hefner and husband John of Woodson Terrace, Missouri, Iris Hall of Qulin, and Sharon Hall of Lebanon, Missouri; one brother, Tom Hall of Qulin; two sisters, Hazel Scott and Myra Luepke of Poplar Bluff; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one son, Bethel D. Hall; one daughter, Janice Metcalf; one brother and four sisters. Visitation will be from 6.00 PM to 9.00 PM at the Landess Funeral Home in Campbell. The funeral services will be at 1.00 PM Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Kenley Dunscomb and Pastor Mike Craig officiating. Metcalf, 53, died Wednesday January 8th 1997 in Poplar Bluff. Mrs. Metcalf was born March 28th 1943 in Qulin. A 20-year resident of Qulin, she was a bakery supervisor at Wal-Mart. On December 21st 1966, she was married to Hubert Metcalf. He preceded her in death. Survivors include her father, Hubert Hall of Qulin; two daughters, Kelly Eilea Brewer of Overland, Missouri and Theresa Jan Metcalf of Seattle, Washington; two sons, Shannon Clay Metcalf and Malcolm Laverl Metcalf, both of Qulin; three brothers, Burlin Sanders of Pitkin, Louisiana, Charles Hall and Brandon Hall, both of St. Louis; three sisters, Louise Hefner of St. Louis, Iris K. Hall of Woodside, New York, and Sharon McElwrath of Springfield, Missouri; and one grandchild. Visitation will be at 6.00 PM Saturday at White-Sanders Funeral Home in Qulin.
