Born May 23, 1914, in Batesville, Ark., daughter of the late Edward G. and Fannie Margaret Case Ragle, she was a homemaker and a nurse’s aide. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Qulin. On Dec. 7, 1930, in Forrest City, Ark., she married Loyd McGee, Sr., who preceded her in death on Feb. 23, 1985. Survivors include two sons, Loyd McGee, Jr., of Qulin and Jerry C. McGee, of Imperial, Mo.; four daughters, Margaret Robertson, of St. Louis, Mo., Dorothy DePriest and Christina Baker, both of Hazelwood, Mo. and Arlene Webb, of Qulin; two sisters, Ruth Ivie, of Cordova, Tenn. and Bobbie Finn, of West Memphis, Ark.; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. today, Thursday, June 19, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel in Campbell, Mo., with Brother Lynn Ham and the Rev. Don Mayo officiating. Burial was in the Qulin Cemetery. ==================== Goldie Moore Goldie May Moore, 86, of Qulin, Mo., formerly of Malden, Mo., died Wednesday, June 18, 2003 at her residence. Born July 16, 1916, in Batesville, Ark., daughter of the late John and Belinda Barnes Starr, she was a homemaker and of the Pentecostal faith. On Aug. 29, 1931, in Malden, she married Alonzo Moore, who preceded her in death on Feb. 16, 1977. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Betty Chalfant; one son, Leman Moore; four grandchildren; two great-great- grandchildren; four brothers and four sisters. Survivors include three daughters, Lou Crannick, of Festus, Mo. and Kathy Phillips and Linda Stanley, both of Malden; five sons, Johnny Moore, of Campbell, Mo., David and Gary Moore, both of Malden, Don Moore, of Wappapello, Mo. and Frank Moore, of Qulin; 39 grandchildren; 62 great- grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren. Born Oct. 5, 1921, in Glennonville, Mo., daughter of the late George and Matilda Ronspiez Fortman, she was a homemaker, a member of the St. Teresa’s Catholic Church, member of the St. Teresa’s Alter Society and Diocese Council of Catholic Women. She was a Girl Scout neighborhood chaiman. On Sept. 24, 1941, in Glennonville, she married William Joseph Deken, who preceded her in death on May 24, 1999. She was also preceded in death by one son, David Deken and three sisters, Christine Wallace, Pauline Rhodes and Dorothy Nilges. Born May 4, 1933, in Pollard, Ark., a son of the late Sanford Marion and Oline Williams, Parks, he was a retired truck driver. Survivors include four sons, Larry Parks of Fairfax, Va., Dave Parks and Steve Parks, both of Wentzville, Mo., Roger Parks of House Springs, Mo.; one brother, J.L. Parks of Reynolds, Mo., a step-brother, Odis Neeley of Janeyville, Mo. a step-sister, Dorothy Harrison of Farmington, Mo. and friend, Dorothy Kinney of Qulin. Graveside services are 11:30 a.m. today at the Qulin Cemetery in Qulin. =========== Harley Sentell QULIN -- Harley Sentell, 74, of Qulin died Saturday, June 28, 2003, at Three Rivers Healthcare North Campus. Mr. Sentell was born Aug. 20, 1928, in Dyer County, Tenn., and lived in Qulin all his life. He was a member of Lone Prairie Baptist Church, the Qulin Lions Club where he was a former president, and was a retired farmer. He served in the Army during the Korean War. On Nov. 11, 1997, he married Jeanice Willoughby. She survives. Also surviving are five stepchildren, Shannon Russell Jr. of Jersey City N.J., Shanna Smith of Steele, Robert Russell of Wardell, Anna Russell of Malden and Lori Russell of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, James Sentell and Chester Sentell both of Qulin; and four stepgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, L.R. Sentell and Sally Lee Sentell; two sons, Keith and Kevin Sentell; one granddaughter, Christina Lynn Sentell; and a brother Aaron Sentell. Born Dec. 21, 1911, in Qulin, son of the late Ira and Delia Hillis Osborn, he was a farm hand and attended Oglesville General Baptist Church. Survivors include one sister, Alta Strickland, of Qulin; one nephew, James Brent and wife Fredericka, of Swartz Creek, Mich.; one niece, Anna Lott, of Fairdealing, Mo.; two great-nephews; two great-nieces; one great-great- nephew; one great-great-niece and two special friends, Monk and Linda Austin, of Quilin. He was preceded in death by one sister, Lora Osborn and an infant brother. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Wednesday, Sept. 5, at the Landess Funeral Home in Campbell, Mo. Burial will follow at the Qulin Cemetery. =============== Pearl Rose Pearl King Rose, 86, of Campbell, Mo., died Monday, Oct. 8, 2001, at the General Baptist Nursing Home in Campbell. Born Jan. 4, 1915, in Qulin, Mo., daughter of the late Samual Warren and Martha E. Laws Huff, she was a homemaker and a member of the Campbell General Baptist Church . On Oct. 25, 1936, she married Lee J. King, who preceded her in death on Aug. 31, 1964 and on April 13, 1968, she married E.W. Rose, who preceded her in death on Aug. 19, 1987. Survivors include two sons, Randall Lee King, of Grand Rapids, Mich. and Bobby Dean King, of Sparta, Ill.; six grandchildren, Jeff, Karen, Timothy, Michelle, Matthew and Jonathan King and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one grandchild; three brothers and four sisters. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today, Thursday, Oct. 11, at the Landess Funeral Home in Campbell. Hays, 88, of Poplar Bluff and formerly of Qulin, Mo., died Friday, Nov. 9, 2001, at his home. Born Feb. 12, 1913, in Armorel, Ark., son of the late Jim C. and Clarate Nobels Hays, he was a retired farmer, retired from Boeving Bros. Cotton Gin and a member of the Qulin United Methodist Church. On May 9, 1942, in Poplar Bluff, he married Glenda Pendegrass, who survives of the home. Other survivors include, two sons, John L. Hays of Dudley, Mo. and Stephen J. Hays of DeSoto, Mo., one daughter, Ronda Smith of Sikeston; nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. Born Sept. 23, 1911, in Dexter, Mo., daughter of the late Hugh and Clara Burr Joins, she was a homemaker, a member of the Osborn General Baptist Church and a member of the Campbell Rebekah Lodge. On April, 1931, she married Chester Lee Barron Harper, who preceded her in death on Aug. 29, 1998. Survivors include one daughter, Reta Snider and husband, Ed, of Poplar Bluff; two nieces, Janet Morphis and Pat Wheeling, both of Poplar Bluff; one nephew, Carroll Joins of St. Louis, Mo. Born Nov. 1, 1917, in Glennonville, Mo., daughter of the late Riley and Lillie Harper Davis, she was retired from Leicht Electric and a former member of the Airport Baptist Church in Malden. On May 27, 1933, in Qulin, Mo., she married Clarence Homer Rose, who preceded her in death on Aug. 30, 1979. Born Sept. 9, 1936, in Ben Lomond, Ark., son of Margaret Hamilton Hampton, of Qulin and the late Charlie Hampton, he was a U.S. Army veteran and of the Baptist faith. On Nov, 7, 1962, in Piggott, Ark., he married Linda Foster, who survives of the home. Survivors also include one son, Bobby Gene Hampton, of Qulin; one daughter, Lisa Hampton, of Qulin and two sisters, Dorothy Kinney and Wilma Daniels, both of Qulin. Born Sept. 30, 1915, in Qulin, Mo., daughter of the late Hershel and Ginny Ann Christie, she was a homemaker. In 1930, in Qulin, she married William Willard Pleasant, who preceded her in death on Dec. 22, 1977. She was also preceded in death by one son, Clyde Chrisitie. Survivors include two sons, Bobby Pleasant, of St. Louis, Mo. and Zindel Pleasant, of Laguna Beach, Calif.; six daughters, Donna Allen, of Mountain View, Mo., Judy Truelove, of Delhi, La., Ilene Marler, of St. Louis, Patsy Pleasant, of Springfield, Mo. On Nov. 22, 1935, in Poplar Bluff, Mo., she married Carl Lavern Hefner, who preceded her in death on Feb. 19, 1994. Born Dec. 29, 1908, in Dyersburg, Tenn., son of the late Julius Hall and Estella Neil Hall Kitchens, he was a farmer and a member of the Qulin Trinity Pentecostal Church. On Sept. 26, 1936, in Poplar Bluff, he married Pauletta Scott, who preceded him in death on Jan. 8, 1980. He was also preceded in death by one son, Bethel D. Hall; one daughter, Janice Metcalf; one brother and four sisters. Burial will follow at the Qulin Cemetery. =============== George Masters George Vernon Masters, 77, formerly of Farmington, Mo., died Wednesday, May 22, 2002 at Fort Wayne, Ind. Born May 20, 1925 in Kennett, Mo., son of the late Roy and Evie Broughton Masters, he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps in World War II as a staff sergeant. He flew 33 combat missions as a tailgunner and was awarded the air medal five times. He graduated from Arkansas State College at Jonesboro, Ark. in 1953, taught school, worked for the Welfare and then the Department of Corrections , retiring as a parole officer in Indiana. He was of the Baptist faith. On Aug. 21, 1946, in Qulin, Mo., he married Rose Lucille Beavers who preceded him in death Mar. 21, 1994. Survivors include a son, Jim Masters and his wife, Linda, of Mishawaka, Ind.: a daughter, Theresa Olmes and her husband, Bob, of Vernon, Conn.; two brothers, Wayne Masters and his wife, Rebah, and Doyle Masters and his wife, Genevieve, all of Missouri; a sister, Dovie Thompson of Michigan; his mother-in-law, Lena Beavers of Missouri; seven grandchildren, Jimmy, Lisa, Shawn and Nikki Masters, all of Indiana, Danielle Olmes Baumgardner, R.J. Born Jan. 25, 1917, in Risco, Mo., daughter of the late Frank and Florena Skidmore Huffman, she was a housewife, and a charter member of the Osborn General Baptist Church in Oglesville. On Oct. 8, 1932, in Piggott, Ark., she married Alfred James Jude Osborn, who preceded her in death on Nov. 15, 1987. She was also preceded in death by one son, Dairus Osborn and a son-in-law, Gerald Brockman. Burial will follow at the Qulin Cemetery in Qulin. =============== Ralph Berger Ralph E. Berger, 78, of Qulin, Mo., died Friday, July 19, 2002, at his residence. Born June 12, 1924, in Oglesville, Mo., son of the late Max and Rosa Oden Berger, he was a farmer and member of the Oglesville General Baptist Church. He also served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. On Nov. 6, 1947, in Piggott, Ark., he married Sue E. Taylor, who survives. Other survivors include a brother, Arlin Berger of Mt. Vernon, Ill.; a sister-in-law, Geneva Berger of Qulin and two brothers-in-law, C.E. Forrest and Cleo Taylor, Jr. and his wife, Mae, all of Qulin and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Emil Berger and one sister, Onedia Forrest. Born Dec. 26, 1915, in Malden, Mo., daughter of the late Guy E. and Cora Margaret Vancil Scott, she was a member of the United Methodist Church in Qulin. On July 5, 1944, in Piggott, Ark., she married Eugene Whittington, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Louis “Bo” Scott and one sister, Christine Huber. Born March 16, 1923, in Risco, Mo., daughter of the late William Harrison and Nora Ann Black Fuwell, she was a homemaker and a member of the Qulin Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons, Dan Sauls, of Broseley, Mo. and Pete Redman, of Kokomo, Ind.; two daughters, Jettie Voisine, of Qulin and Margaret McCarter, of Brooksville; two step-children, Jack Belote and Nancy Wolverton, both of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; one brother, Roscoe Fuwell, of Salt Lake City, Utah; one sister, Ethel Rose, of Tennessee; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Hefner, 62, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., died Monday, Dec. 2, 2002, at Three Rivers Healthcare-North Campus in Poplar Bluff. Born Feb. 7, 1940, in Qulin, Mo., son of Dallas Hefner, of Qulin and the late Angelee Osborn Hefner, he was a retired salesman and a booster member and active supporter of the Three Rivers Raiders. On June 6, 1959, in St. Louis, Mo., he married Frances Jane Whitehead, who survives of the home. Survivors also include one daughter, Angela Lazalier and husband, Daron, of Poplar Bluff; one son, David Hefner and wife, Darla, of Paris, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Jessica and Jordan Hefner and Ashlee and Wyatt Lazalier, all of Poplar Bluff; two sisters, Freda Bruemmer, of Florissant, Mo. and Margie Austin, of St. Louis and one brother, Landon Hefner, of O’Fallon, Mo. He was preceded in death by one grandson, Jarrod Hefner. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Tuesday, Dec. 3, at the Landess Funeral Home in Campbell, Mo. Born Sept. 22, 1919, in Greenbrier, Ark., she was a homemaker and a member of the Qulin Church of Christ. On Oct. 30, 1937, she married C.W. Lea, who preceded her in death on June 14, 1998. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Dennis Flowers and one sister, Ruth Hoggard.
