He is survived by his wife, Lilly Lawrey of the Home in Qulin; two sons James Lawrey of Pamona, California, Eugene Lawry of Hardy, ARk. His daughters, Mrs. Pauline Cook of St. Louis. Mrs. Maxine Reece of Walnut Ridge, Mrs, Wanda Carson of Walnut Ridge, Mrs. Violet Gibson of Wilmington, California, one step-sister, Ellan Robinson of Hardy Ark. and Virgil Carson of Pamona California Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the Greer Croy, Fitch Chapel. PAMONA, CALIFORNIA IS "POMONA" --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lee Wesley Waters born 14 May 1931 and died 8 Oct 1995. submitted by and Tracy Wood --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mizell Hugh Ellsinore Edgar Hugh Mizell, 71 of Ellsinore, formerly of Fagus, died Sunday, October 22, 2006 at his residence. Mr. Mizell was born August 14, 1935 in Pollard, Ark. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Ellsinore. He was a retired farmer and owner of Mizell Bros. Texaco Station and Log Cabin Restaurant in Ellsinore for 20 years. He enjoyed watching East Carter sports, Raiders baseball and Cardinals baseball. On Sept. 23, 1955 he married Mary Alice Morehead in Qulin, She survives. They are survived by two daughters, Donna Ledbetter of Ellsinore and Darla Murphy of Poplar Bluff. On Dec. 15, 1978 he married Donna Thies in Poplar Bluff. She survives. Other survivors include one daughter, Colleen (Bartin) Odom of Cape Girardeau; two sons, Nick Thies of St. Charles and Ben Thies of Ellsinore; one brother, Larry Mizell of Poplar Bluff; one sister, Nona Waddell of Poplar Bluff; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Visitation will be at 6 p.m. today at McSpadden Funeral Home in Ellsinore. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Cal Nations officiating. Burial will follow at Robertson-Owl Roost Cemetery --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jack Foster, 63 farmer and one time resident of the Qulin area died at the Poplar bluff Hospital Tuesday, April 7, after long illness. Mr. Foster was born in Stoddard County Feb 7, 1902,and came to Butler county in 1912. As a boy and young man, he lived with Charley Petty for several years. He was married January 13, 1941 to Miss Jewell Lancaster of Madison, Arkansas. Mrs. Foster died last August 5. Mr. Foster is survived by two daughters; Mrs. Lee Cowan of Colt. Arkansas; Miss Paulette Foster of Qulin; and two brothers Hervie Foster of Flint, Michigan and Alvie Foster of De Kalb. Ill. Burial will be at Hughes Cemetery, Forrest City, Arkansas, Thursday August 9. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Neil, Wayne 1962 or 1961 Rites Held For Drowning Victim Thursday Afternoon. Funeral services for Wayne Allen Neil, a former Qulin resident who drowned in a Lake Michigan inlet Sunday, were held at the Baptist Church in Castor at 2:00 p.m. yesterday. The rev. Howard King officiated and burial was in the Mt. Zion Cemetery, Steele. Neil was born Jan, 14, 1933 at Cooter MO. in 1956 he married the former June Flowers. He had been working as a photographer in Waukegan, Ill. since his release from the Army. Survivors include the widow, June; a daughter Karen; a son, Stephen Wayne; his mother, Mrs. Irene Davis, Leachville, Ark; two brothers, Howard, B. Neil, Pueblo. Colo., and Gene R. Neil, Florissant, MO.' and his grand parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Neil, Cooter, and A.W. Patterson, Humboldt, TN. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ham Jason Qulin, Jason Eugene Ham, 32 of Qulin went home to be with the Lord Monday, July, 2, 2007, at his parents residence. Mr. Ham was born May 1, 1975 in Poplar Bluff. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Osborn General Baptist Church. He had worked at Starting USA in Poplar Bluff for 13, years. Mr. Ham enjoyed spending time with his family, working on vehicles, playing golf, being outdoors and sightseeing. On July 4, 1997, he married Valerie Reed. She survives. Other survivors include two sons, Jason Chatti Ham and Jonathan Ryan Ham, both of the home; his parents, Calvin and Betty Ham, Jr., of Qulin; three brothers, Duke Hansen and his wife, LaVonda, of Stringtown. Donnie Ham and wife, Marla, of Qulin and Dug Ham and his wife, Jami, of Poplar Bluff; his grandparents, Doris Ham of Qulin, J.D and Peggy Benton of Poplar Bluff; seven nephews, Curtis Hansen, Landon, Logan and Karson Ham, Tucker, Hunter and Slater Ham; two sisters-in-law, Amanda Shaw and Brittany Byrd; two brothers-in-law, David Barton and Phillip Shaw, JR.; and two nieces, Jasmine and Jayden Byrd. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Calvin Ham, Sr. and Eulas Hudson. visitation will begin at 6 p.m, Tuesday at White-Sanders Funeral Home in Qulin. Funeral Services will begin at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home with Rev. Gary Hancock and rev. Mark Book officiating. Burial will be in Brown Chapel Cemetery.
