The famous Kresge family who established K Mart is also from
Monroe County, Pennsylvania, and #51 Johann Sielvieus is buried near this big marker for
Conrad Kresge. In the records there in the county seat, Stroudsburg, I came
across some inter-relationships between the Silvii family and the Kresge family but could
never pin it down. We now know there is at least one known intermarriage between the
Kresge family and the Silvius family: Melchoir Silfies married Sally Ann Kresge. |
