Johann Henrich came over on the ship Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, Alexander Hope, Master, from Rotterdam.  Qualified Sept. 16, 1738.  Click here to see a transcribed version of the passenger list.  His name was transcribed as SILICUS, Jno. 16 April 1770, Reverend Daniel Schumacher showed in his Baptismal Register [register cover] the baptism of Johann Henrich Silvius, age 5 weeks old, whose parents were Nickolaus Silvius and "Cath." and the baptism sponsors as the Grandfather "Henrich Silvius" and Grandmother "An. Martha."

http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~marier/Maps.htm [see 1748 survey map] shows, among other maps, the original survey map of the land #1 Henry, the immigrant, applied for [November 1747] and warranted "beyond the Blue Mountains" which is in present-day Carbon County.  Henry sold this land to the Beyers/Boyers in 1769 without patenting it.  It is believed Henry moved to land, in present-day Eldred Township, Monroe County, which his son, #11 Henry, later warranted and patented [see 1786 survey map and see 1810 patent].

Henry and his neighbors asked for and received troop visits at their homes in 1757 against Indian incursions.  http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~marier/Other.htm   See Other documents where #1 Henry is mentioned.

5.

Henry was among those who requested in 1766 a Great Road in their area of Northampton County ("above the Blue Mountain") and he signs the petition, along with several neighbors.  [Same URL as 3. above]

In addition, there is a request of June 1765 signed by Henry and the other inhabitants of this area (over the Blue Mountains near Towamensing Township) requesting the partition of a township.  We do not have a copy of this document yet but an abstract of the document is at the above URL.

  • 1781 [Anna Martha attended post Trinity services--from notes taken by Judy Bedford]
  • "1782, 20th Sunday after Trin. the following persons communed:  Maria Anna Silvius, widow"  [It is likely the original version of the communion records would show Martha Anna Silvius.]  She was preceded on the list by "Johannes Heyl and wife," "Maria Barbara & mo." [mother] and followed on the list by "Jonathan Heyl."  From FHL #20350 and Ancestry.com 2000--Salem Lutheran and Reformed Congregations.

#1 Henry had no Will, he died intestate, so there were papers filed in the Orphans Court, listing his son Henry and widow Anna Martha.  The records listed also a Jacob.  Estate No. 700, Northampton County, Pennsylvania, dated before October 1777.  Accounting of personal property.   These are fairly large images so may take awhile to load.
