1 February 1867 - James Sr. sold his 100 acres [Huntley Twp., Carleton County, Ontario] to Cornelius Forrest (east half of Lot 12, Concession 9), which James Sr. granted a mortgage to Forrest.  
 

James Jr. Marries in Iowa

 

15 March 1867, James P. and Mary Ann (Rafferty) were married at St. Irenaeus Church, Clinton, Clinton County, Iowa.  LDS microfilm #1005210 "Marriage Register Vols. 1 & 2: 1840-1893"

 

James Sr. Dies

26 June 1867 - James Sr. died per Letters Testamentary contained in James' will. James was 80 per this document (copy in possession). "Much esteemed friend Frank Fitzgerald . . . to be the executor . . . ."  No newspapers available for the time to find obituary per Boone County Historical Society. Headstone also says "Little James Grandson."

22 March 1883 "BURNED OUT--The farm residence of James Manion of Harrison township was burned up on the morning of March 22, 1883. A defect in the flue allowed the roof to take fire.  There was but little property saved as Mr. Manion had his hands full in getting his wife and children out who were yet in bed. He is a brother of Dennis Manion of Boone. The house was insured." Boone Standard newspaper of Saturday, April 7, 1883.
