| #12 Nicholas was granted a Warrant for 100 acres on 23 February 1785. The land he chose, surveyed out to be 182 acres with an allowance of 6 percent for roads, making his final acreage 192.9 acres. At the time of his survey on 12 October 1785, it appears he was in possession of the land on either side of his Warrant--the previous owners being Jacob Hoch/Koch and John Snyder. Nicholas named his Patent Pleasant Grove, following the 1766 requirement of naming a patent.
