Information on the
"Silvases" who were at the Moravian Rose Inn by 29 January 1756, for protection
from the Indians. Requires a personal visit to the Moravian Museum in Bethlehem,
Pennsylvania, to view the transcribed version or even the original record for that month.
Thanks to Dan Tan Tanczos, the "Silvases" are not included on the list of those that were at the Rose Inn. I believe the author of "Indian Wars of Pennsylvania," Thomas Lynch Montgomery, took poetic license to include names of others who might have been at the Rose Inn, along with those listed in the Moravian records. |

Also at the Moravian
Museum, we need to see if the original deposition taken by Timothy Horsfield December
13, 1755, of George Casper Heiss is kept there. We need to verify if it refers to
the Sylvas boy or the Serfass boy. Requires a visit to the Moravian Museum, Bethlehem, Pa. The Moravian Museum does not have the original deposition. Onto the next theory of its location. |
