It's believed now that Eugene is far left, then
Leroy, third Arthur, and last Sid. In front, Ferdinand, daughter Miranda, and
Rosalie.
This is a black and white photocopy of a reproduction loaned to me
by Alice Bolander.

Ferdinand was awarded this medal--this is an actual photocopy of
the medal. Click here for more information. This raid was
26 May 1870--Ferdinand entered the U.S. through the Port of Huron in
April 1870 per his Naturalization papers. |

Miranda (Berthiaume), mother Rosalie (Berthiaume) Des Marais,
believed to be Isabelle (Berthiaume) Benoit-Des Marais-Nocton, and Belle's daughter
Laura (Nocton)
This was taken at the Nelson photoraphy studio in Buffalo which was
only in business from 1902-1907, under that name.
Thanks to Dick and Mary Anne Kaselnak. Dick and his brother, Joe,
who died January 2001, are grandsons of Laura (Nocton).

The picture on the wall
behind Rosalie. Does anyone recognize it as being a Berthiaume or Des Marais
portrait they've seen before--maybe as a kid? Could likely also be a family picture
of Sidney's wife, Helsen. |
