Imholte Sr. If I recall right, Maria's is carved on different side of this
headstone. The photo taken of her side is barely discernible because the shadow is

The Anton Imholte Sr.
retirement home built approximately 1888 in St. Augusta Township, Minnesota. Photos
taken in 1979 by descendant, Norene (Imholte) Marchant. I'm wondering if this isn't
really the brick home that son, Henry, built on his parents' farm, which he bought
in 1889. The History of Stearns County, p. 944, says "In 1900 he [Henry]
erected a splendid brick residence . . . ." Anton and Maria retired to the
village of St. Augusta in 1888, per this history. |
