"Reuben Hilliard lived in Pennsylvania near the Varners, then joined the army and was in the cavalry unit with them
in the Civil War.  He came to Minnesota with them and after several years here, married David Varner's daughter,
Susan Varner.  After three girls were born to them, he died, and she married Tom Foley.  Della Hilliard is one of their daughters, and she married John Varner, Jr., a brother to my grandmother, and first cousin to her own mother, Susan.   Lori Waters is a direct descendant to all of these people."  Claudia.
