Letter from Amos Silvis to Reuben Hilliard December 1863

Amos Silvis was first married to Anna Maria (Hilliard) 10 Oct 1861 (she died 1862).  Amos is a descendant of Henry Silvius, brother of our Nicholas Silvius, the father of Anna Maria (Silvius) who married William Bitts, Sr.  William Bitts Sr. was the father of Mary (Bitts), wife of our John Varner Sr.  Amos Silvis was a resident of Clarion County.  Reuben Hilliard and Amos, William H., and Jeremiah Silvis, brothers, were in the same company--C 78th Pa. Infantry.  Amos and Reuben were discharged with disabilities.  William H. was discharged 4 Nov. 1864 and Jeremiah,  11 Sep 1865.

"Reuben Hilliard and son, William David Hilliard."  Photographer S. B. Dilley was in Lake City, Minnesota, in the 1870 and 1880 census. 

Must be Reuben's brother.  The age difference was not great enough to be a child of Reuben.  Was Reuben previously married?  The letters from Pennsylvania indicate that Reuben had a child out of wedlock in Pennsylvania.
