On Good Friday March 26, 1948 the death occurred of Patrick, son of Malcolm MacFarlane, in his 84th year. He was the son of Malcolm MacFarlane and Sara MacLellan both natives of the parish. Besides his wife Christine Wall of 54 years marriage he is survived by one daughter Sadie, Mrs. Hugh A. Gillis South West Margaree, one son John, when last heard from in western Canada, two brothers John in Riverside California, James at home, one sister Margaret in Shelbourne Falls, Mass. Patrick was confined to bed for his last twenty years due to problems with his legs.

There died at Riverside, California, Jan. 25th, 1950, in his 85th year, John, son of the late Malcolm MacFarlane and Sarah MacLellan, both of S. W. Margaree, Inverness Co., NS.
The deceased was a carpenter by trade, after working around Boston for a time, he went west and soon found employment with Gillis Bros. Contractors, Colorado Springs. When there he had the misfortune to break his leg in an accident. As he could not pursue his trade any longer he came back East and established himself in Inverness which was then a booming town and where he made many friends during his stay among them.
Being subject to bronchitis, he returned to the West for the benefit of his health and made considerable improvement for many years and was able to attend to his business.
Of late his health gradually began to give away and around Christmas it became evident that the end was approaching. After few days he received the last rites of the Church from his Pastor, Msgr. Peter Lynch and he had a happy death. Services were conducted in St. Francis de Sales.
Many Mass cards were received, also floral pieces, letters, cards telegrams and messages of sympathy.
He was married twice, first to Flora MacIsaac, Dunvegan, again to Agnes Doyle, Margaree Forks, who survives him. Also surviving is one brother, James on the old home, ten nieces and seven nephews, all but two residing in the Margaree District.
Pall bearers were Knights of Columbus, friends of the deceased: Lambert Nineteman, Joseph McGuire, Frank P. Riordan, Raymond MacCafferty, Jack Nelson and Major John MacIsaac. R.I.P.

The death occurred on April 19, 1955 of James M. MacFarlane at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cheticamp, C.B. at the age of 48 (sic) years. He was born at S.W. Margaree, son of the late Malcolm MacFarlane and Sarah MacLellan. Last surviving member of a large family of 7 boys and 8 girls. Veteran of WW I, joined British Imperial Army in the summer of 1915. Painter by trade, worked in the U.S. a number of years then returned to C.B.
"Jim Malcolm" as he was familiarly known. Funeral took place at the residence of his nephew Malcolm MacFarlane at S.W. Margaree to St. Joseph's Church & Cemetery on April 21, 1955. Mass was sung by his grand-nephew Rev. Angus MacLeod, C.R. Sydney Mines, C.B.
