Generation One


1. Sebastian¹ Root married Maria.
He was also known as Sebastian Rutt. He resided at North Coventry Twp., Chester Co., PA. He resided at Berne Twp., Berks Co., PA. He left a will on 16 Nov 1792; proved 17 Dec 1793.
Known children of Sebastian¹ Root and Maria were as follows:

•       i.   Yost² Root left a will on 25 Dec 1850; proved 12 Mar 1801.


•       ii.   John Root.


•       iii.   Daniel Root.


•       iv.   Sebastian Root married Sarah Longacre.


•     2  v.   Jacob Root, born 30 Mar 1754; married Catharine.

Generation Two


2. Jacob² Root (Sebastian¹) was born 30 Mar 1754; he married Catharine; he died 20 Mar 1841 at age 86; he was buried at Mt. Zion Cemetery, North Coventry Twp., Chester Co., PA.
He was a soldier in the American Revolution. He left a will on 1 May 1840.
Catharine was born on 1 Nov 1756. She died on 7 Apr 1840 at age 83. She was buried at Mt. Zion Cemetery, North Coventry Twp., Chester Co., PA.
Known children of Jacob² Root and Catharine were as follows:

•       i.   John³ Root married Susanna Miller, daughter of Conrad Miller and Magdalyn.


•     3  ii.   Jacob Root, born 1780; married Mary Syfret.


•       iii.   Daniel Root was born 25 Jul 1787; he died 26 Nov 1826 at age 39; he was buried at Mt. Zion Cemetery, North Coventry Twp., Chester Co., PA.


•       iv.   Susanna Root was born 24 Jun 1795; she married ___ Sechler; 1st husband; she married Daniel Hunsberger; 2nd husband; she died 28 Apr 1837 at age 41; she was buried at Mt. Zion Cemetery, North Coventry Twp., Chester Co., PA.

Generation Three


3. Jacob³ Root (Jacob², Sebastian¹) was born 1780; he married Mary Safreed; he died 1822.
He was a carpenter.
Mary Safreed was born in 1783. She married Henry Sabold; 2nd husband. She died in 1867. She was buried at Mt. Zion Cemetery, North Coventry Twp., Chester Co., PA. Her name was also spelled Syfret.
Known children of Jacob³ Root and Mary Safreed were as follows:

•       i.   Sarah⁴ Root married Henry Sabold Jr.


•       ii.   Mary S. Root married Christopher.


•       iii.   Jacob S. Root.


•       iv.   George Root was born circa 1805; he died 22 Oct 1882.


•     4  v.   Eli S. Root, born 23 Feb 1817 at Chester Co., PA; married Sarah Pennypacker.

Generation Four


4. Eli S.⁴ Root (Jacob³, Jacob², Sebastian¹) was born 23 Feb 1817 at Chester Co., PA; he married Sarah Pennypacker, daughter of Richard Pennypacker and Catherine Roberts; he died 7 Jul 1907 at age 90; he was buried at Mt. Zion Cemetery, North Coventry Twp., Chester Co., PA.
He was a carpenter. He was a farmer. He was a feed merchant. He resided at Pottstown, PA.
Sarah Pennypacker was born 31 May 1821 at Chester Co., PA. She died on 5 Apr 1893 at age 71. She was buried at Mt. Zion Cemetery, North Coventry Twp., Chester Co., PA.
Known children of Eli S.⁴ Root and Sarah Pennypacker were as follows:

•     5  i.   Mary Jane⁵ Root, born 25 Sep 1844 at Pennsylvania; married Henry Harrison Wanger.


•       ii.   R. Morgan Root was born 6 Jun 1848 at Pennsylvania; he married Elizabeth East, daughter of Abraham East and Mary A. Holman; he died 31 Dec 1930 at age 82; he was buried at Mt. Zion Cemetery, North Coventry Twp., Chester Co., PA.


•       iii.   Frank H. Root married __ Fletcher; he died 6 May 1926.


•       iv.   Emma Root was born 30 Jun 1854; she married Henry Yergey.


•       v.   S. Katherine Root was born 31 Jan 1857; she died 3 Sep 1926 at age 69; unmarried.


•       vi.   Maurice P. Root was born 10 Jan 1860; he married Carrie Herr; he died 13 Sep 1913 at age 53.


•       vii.   Carrie E. Root was born 16 Feb 1863; she married William H. Herr.

Generation Five


5. Mary Jane⁵ Root (Eli⁴, Jacob³, Jacob², Sebastian¹) was born 25 Sep 1844 at Pennsylvania; she married Henry Harrison Wanger, son of Jacob Wanger and Elizabeth Umstead, either 1866 or 1867; she died 7 Oct 1933 at age 89.
Henry Harrison Wanger was born in Oct 1841 at Pennsylvania. He died in 1902. He resided at Philadelphia, PA. He was a builder.
