2.  Mary Randolph Keith (James1); b. 28 Apr 1737 at Fauquier Co., VA;
m. Col. Thomas Marshall, son of Capt. John Marshall and Elizabeth
Markham, 1754 at Fauquier Co., VA; d. 19 Sep 1809 at Mason Co., KY, at
age 72.

     Col. Thomas Marshall was born on 2 Apr 1730 at Washington Parish,
Westmoreland Co., VA. He was a surveyor. He was a Lieutenant during
French & Indian War. He was a member of the House of Burgesses at
Virginia. He was a member of the 1776 Virginia Convention that
declared independence at Virginia. He Lieutenant of Volunteers during
French & Indian War.  Superintendant of Lord Fairfax's Estate.  High
Sheriff of Fauquier Co. in 1767.  Organized the Culpepper Minutemen.
Member of the Virginia House of Burgesses.  Served at Valley Forge.
Succeeded to Gen. Mercer's command when Mercer was killed at Battle of
Germantown.  Fought at Battle of Brandywine where he commanded the
Third Virginia Regiment.  He resided in 1765 at 'The Hollow', near
Markham, Fauquier Co., VA. He resided at 'Oak Hill', Fauquier Co., VA.
He was High Sheriff in 1767 at Fauquier Co., VA. He resided in 1785 at
Woodford Co., KY. He was a member of the Virginia Legislature in 1787
at Fayette Co., Kentucky. He left a will on 26 Jun 1798 at Mason Co.,
KY; proved 15 Feb 1803.
